Description

The coin was a standard circulating coin under the Pilipino Series. This was the first coin to feature a female Filipino hero, Melchora Aquino, who remains the only woman to appear on standard-issue coins. The coin is common due to its high mintage. It was later demonetized on January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995.
