Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the Flora and Fauna Series. The obverse features Marcelo H. del Pilar, often referred to as the "Father of Philippine Journalism," for founding the Diariong Tagalog. The reverse features the Philippine eagle, which is a prominent cultural symbol of the Philippines. The coin is common due to its high mintage. It later changed its size in 1991 as part of the Improved Flora and Fauna series and was demonetized on January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995.
