Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the Flora and Fauna Series. The obverse features Juan Luna, known for his painting “Spoliarium” and his activism. The reverse features the Philippine butterfly, which is endemic in the country. The coin is common due to its high mintage. It later changed its size in 1991 as part of the Improved Flora and Fauna series and was demonetized on January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995.
