Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the Flora and Fauna Series. The obverse features Lapulapu, one of the first Filipinos to resist Spanish rule. Furthermore, its reverse features Cymbiola imperialis, a species of sea snail found in the Sulu Sea. The coin is common due to its high mintage. Its size and shape remained unchanged throughout the Improved Flora and Fauna series until it was later demonetized on January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995.
