Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the Flora and Fauna Series. The obverse features Jose Rizal, widely considered the country's national hero. The reverse features the tamaraw, which is endemic only in Mindoro. The coin is common due to its high mintage. It later changed its size in 1991 as part of the Improved Flora and Fauna series and was demonetized on January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995.
