Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the English Series. It features Lady Liberty, one of the longest-standing symbols in Philippine coinage, dating back to the American occupation. Furthermore, Mayon Volcano can be seen in the background, known for its distinctive shape. In 1959, 4,999,000 50-centavo coins were minted; however, they were labeled as 1958. It was later demonetized on August 31, 1979, and was the last time the coat of arms carried the English national name, as well as the Central Bank of the Philippines label in English.
