Description
The coin was a standard circulating coin under the English Series. It features Lady Liberty, one of the longest-standing symbols in Philippine coinage, dating back to the American occupation. Furthermore, Mayon Volcano can be seen in the background, known for its distinctive shape. In 1959, many 10-centavo coins were minted; however, they were labeled as 1958. It was later demonetized after January 2, 1998, as per BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995, making it one of the longest-lasting coins in post-independent Philippine circulation. It was the last time the coat of arms carried the English national name, as well as the Central Bank of the Philippines label in English.
