Description
The coin is a standard circulating coin under the BSP Series. It was the first time a 10-peso coin was issued for standard circulation, which was first issued in 2000 to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the BSP, and it was also the first standard-issue coin to feature two persons. The obverse depicts Andres Bonifacio, who founded the Katipunan, aiming to achieve Philippine independence, along with Apolinario Mabini, who made a significant contribution to the establishment of the First Philippine Republic as Aguinaldo’s chief advisor. The reverse features the seal of the Bangko Sentral, along with the year of its establishment as a legal institution. The coin is common and remains in circulation.
